bio
With roots and upbringing in the Andean highlands, I have navigated through various paths and endeavours, both in my birthplace and around the world: In Germany, I initiated and co-founded an NGO that engaged with children, the arts and the environment in the Cloud Forests of Ecuador. In the Middle East, I engaged with refugees and carried out research on the potentialities of new media and the arts in times of conflict. And in Denmark, I supported the efforts of the worldwide movement to eradicate torture through creative advocacy and campaigning.
Other past collaborations include: The Ministry of Education Ecuador, The Mandela Foundation, The Red Cross & ActionAid.
Given my own liberating experience with non-formal education, I currently co-teach a course on Social Entrepreneurship at Krogerup Højskole. Moreover, due to my own experience as a migrant, a woman and my active involvement with the refugee community, I volunteer on a regular basis with Women Refugee Route & MOVE. And I am an active member of Crossing Borders.
Furthermore, I work as an independent project and cultural manager and advise creative strategies for development.
My path up to now has been rather unlinear, yet my purpose hasn’t changed: to foster social transformation by generating constructive, collaborative, courageous and caring spaces where we can come together across borders, realise our potentials and tackle social issues through advocacy, entrepreneurship, non-formal education and creativity, -starting by ourselves. In the future, I strive to continue pursuing this purpose and nurture real social change and our human potential.
Educational Background
I hold an MSc in Development & International Relations from Aalborg University with specialisation in Global Refugee Studies. Furthermore, I studied Anthropology, Middle Eastern Studies and Politics at the University of Copenhagen and the University of Hamburg, and Visual Communications at the Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg (HfbK). I speak fluent English, Spanish, German, advanced Danish and basic Arabic and French.
